Recently, we received a request to look closer into the effects of chemical contamination exposures and fertility. Two chemicals of note, TCE and PFOS, were mentioned. We found some interesting studies/research on both (some provided by readers) that documents some of the threats of chemical exposure to fertility. More importantly, they also bear out a couple of already widely held beliefs about the transferability of these toxins from generation to generation.

November 11 is Veterans Day. Originally named Armistice Day in honor of the signing of the agreement to end World War I, the holiday was changed to Veterans Day in 1954. In that year, President Dwight D. Eisenhower delivered the first “Veterans Day Proclamation”. Veterans Day is always observed on November 11 of each year, no matter what day on which it falls.

New for Military: VA Camp Lejeune Family Member Program
While efforts continue to pursue accountability and assistance for civilian DOD employees who faced exposure at Camp Lejeune, there is at least a bit of momentum now for military members and their spouses/families. It has been over 2 years since the Janey Ensminger Act of 2012 was passed. Finally, the VA is starting to move in the direction of carrying it out.
