In an online report released this morning, NBC News explores yesterday’s release of a new Civilian Mortality Study of Contaminated Water Exposure at Camp Lejeune. While much news has been focused on the military members and their families that lived aboard base during the period of contamination (1950s-1990s), this recent study provides a fresh and welcomed look into the issues faced by numbers of dedicated DOD civilian workers that worked aboard Camp Lejeune daily. Many were working or located in offices near or directly over contamination areas and hotspots.
